OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

R.O.S.E (14-17 yr old girls)

R.O.S.E. (Recognizing Our Self-Empowerment) is a tailored eight-week initiative for girls aged 14-17, focusing on life skills enhancement. Participants explore themes from self-esteem and entrepreneurship to emotional regulation. We accommodate diverse learning preferences with virtual, in-person, and hybrid course options.

S.M.L Program (7-10 yr old girls)

The S.M.L Program, inspired by Samyra Marie Lee's radiant spirit, is a condensed eight-week course for girls aged 7-10. It focuses on fostering self-identity and nurturing healthy relationships. For more details, please reach out. We offer flexible course formats: virtual, in-person, and hybrid.

Pieces of Me (Middle School Girls)

Pieces of Me is an empowering eight-week journey designed for minority middle school girls grappling with identity and self-confidence. This program guides participants towards embracing their authenticity, fostering self-love, and boosting confidence. Available in virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats, it offers flexible participation options.

Beauty From Ashes Support Group

Beauty From Ashes, an eight-week journey for girls aged 7-10, offers understanding and resilience in the face of parental incarceration. Through this program, participants learn coping mechanisms and how to cultivate supportive networks. Honored with the YNAAP Grant Award from 2017 to 2019, we provide versatile course options: virtual, in-person, and hybrid.

A national study conducted by the California Black Women’s Health Project (2003) revealed that 60 percent of African American women experience symptoms of depression, but another report revealed that only 12 percent seek help and/or treatment (SOURCE: National Alliance on Mental Illness, 2009).

Along with increased stress levels, more girls—and younger girls—are experiencing symptoms of depression or persistent sadness.

In the 2023 ROX survey, about 40 percent of girls in 8th through 12th grades and about 35 percent in 5th through 7th grades reported feeling depressed at least four days per week. (SOURCE: The Girls’ Index, Ruling Our eXperiences, 2023)
